Meet Dr. Halikias
Dr. Tanya Halikias is owner and optometrist at Springdale Eye Care. She graduated from The University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 1999 with a bachelor of science degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Dr. Halikias received her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2007, graduating Magna Cum Laude. She was awarded the Lawrence P. Feigenbaum Clinical Optometry Memorial Award for the best clinician in her class as well as the Richard J. O’Brien II Award for top residency candidate.
Dr. Halikias then went on to complete a post-doctoral residency in primary eye care and ocular disease at the Illinois College of Optometry. She is a rare member of a select group of approximately 10% of optometrists to complete a residency. Dr. Halikias also spent 17 years as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Illinois College of Optometry, training new generations of optometrists. A teacher at heart, Dr. Halikias will make sure you understand your eye conditions and all treatment options available.
When she is not providing exceptional eye care, Dr. Halikias can be found in the stands cheering on her children at a basketball game or swim meet. She is also passionate about cooking and her family and staff love tasting her creations.

Loved this place!
The receptionist was helpful and friendly, the assistant was great, and the Doctor was amazing!! She explained everything she was doing as she did it, and was knowledgeable, warm and made me feel at ease. They were not pushy about trying to sell glasses or eye drops or anything. Very nice experience! I highly recommend this place.

Springdale Eye Care is the place to go for glasses, contacts and a thorough and very accurate exam. Dr. Halikias took the time to talk to me about my vision issues and then followed with a very thorough exam in which she discovered I had been in the wrong type of contacts and my prescription was not correct. Im so grateful I found her and her practice. I would highly recommend this office to anyone who needs eye care!!!

Dr. Halikias is wonderful! Smart and explains the exam every step of the way. The minute I wore my progressive eye glasses, I was used to them. Everything from distance, to computer to reading were perfect. THANK YOU SO MUCH! The staff is wonderful and so is the office. Very inviting and comfortable.
